Complete Training for Your Driver's License in Japan

Specialized Multilingual Team at Your Side

14-Day Intensive Course Program

The 14-day intensive course program significantly accelerates the process of obtaining your driver’s license, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience. During this full-time regime, students participate in both theoretical and practical classes, culminating in the issuance of a certificate of completion. A distinctive advantage is the elimination of the practical test at the Department of Traffic (DMV), replaced by evaluations conducted by the course’s own instructors, ensuring greater safety and confidence for students. The only additional requirement is a theoretical exam at the DMV, with the license granted upon passing.

Revolutionizing Driving Education

Tsuugaku, which means “regular classes” in Japanese, revolutionizes the approach to learning how to drive, standing out for its flexibility, convenience, and personalization. Unlike traditional methods, it offers flexible hours, adapting to students’ availability. Lessons are customized to meet individual needs, following the progress of each student.

The Journey to Getting Your Japanese Driver’s License

The process of obtaining a driver’s license in Japan is a learning journey divided into two stages: “Karimen” and “Honmen”. Initially, candidates participate in the “Karimen” stage, where they attend theoretical and practical classes to acquire knowledge about traffic laws, signs, and essential driving skills. After successful completion, they advance to the challenging “Honmen” stage, facing practical road training and a rigorous driving exam. Pass your theory test on the first try with Strada.

Simplifying Your Transition to Driving in Japan

The process of transferring a foreign driver’s license to a Japanese one, known as Kirikae, is essential for foreigners seeking to drive legally in Japan. Including steps such as obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility, translating the license, and taking exams, the process can vary depending on the country of origin. Strada simplifies this complex procedure by offering full support, including official translations by JAF, to make the transition smoother. Let us handle the bureaucracy while you focus on improving your driving skills.

Obtaining a Truck License in Japan

Students aged 18 or older with a regular vehicle license undergo comprehensive training in safe driving and traffic regulations. After facing theoretical and practical exams, they can apply for the license. The journey does not end there; drivers in Japan continue to face strict regulations, undergoing continuous training to ensure road safety, demanding commitment and substantial driving skills.

Driver's licenses come in various colors that reflect the holder's experience and driving history.

These colors make it easier to identify a driver’s category. Below are the most significant colors and what they represent.

Green (Beginner Driver's License)

This is issued to new drivers who have obtained their driver’s license for the first time. It is generally valid for 3 years, and drivers with this license are considered inexperienced.

Blue (Standard Driver's License)

This is issued to drivers who initially held a green license and have a good driving record. It is valid for 5 years, provided that no traffic violations or accidents occur during this period. If the driver maintains a clean record, they may become eligible for the gold license.

Gold (Superior Driver's License)

This is issued to drivers with a perfect driving record over a long period. It is typically granted after 5 years without any accidents or traffic violations.
